Seven ways to spend less on groceries
All from the receipts you already get — nothing to type in.
Catch deals on what I already buy
Weekly flyers from nearby stores are matched to what you actually buy. Every match is AI-verified for organic, size, and unit traps — shown next to how often you buy it and what you usually pay.
See when a staple's price quietly jumps
Every item gets a price history from your own receipts: min, max, average, and last paid, across stores. A typical-price benchmark from anonymized community receipts shows whether it's just you.
See the money left on the table
After each receipt, your same items are priced at other nearby stores from anonymized community data — showing which ones were cheaper and by how much. Sometimes the answer is “not much.” We say so.
One list, routed to the cheapest store
Everyone in the household adds to a shared list. Each item is routed to the cheapest of your stores using current deals and your own price history. Save named lists for repeat trips.

Know when my staples go on sale
Your recurring buys are auto-detected from receipts, or you add them yourself. The staples page shows which ones are on sale at your tracked stores right now, next to the price they usually go for.
See where the grocery money actually went
You know the grocery total went up, but not why. Your receipts become a category breakdown and a cross-store comparison of your spending — with an optional weekly email so you don't even have to open the app.
Snap a receipt. That's the data entry.
Photograph receipts, upload PDFs, or auto-forward store emails to your private address. No manual entry — the receipt is the input, and it reads every line for you.

Card & loyalty # auto-blacked out
On your side of the cart.
We win when you spend less
Not a rewards app — we have no incentive for you to spend more. Our only job is to shrink your bill, not pad it.
Receipt-first, privacy-first
We keep stores, products, and prices — never your identity. Card numbers, loyalty codes, and personal details are blacked out of the stored copy (best-effort), and photo GPS is stripped.
It compounds over time
Every receipt sharpens your price history and comparisons. The longer you use it, the more it finds.
Why we're different
Every other grocery app profits when you spend more.
Rewards and cash-back apps are paid by brands to push purchases. We're built the opposite way.
Rewards & cash-back apps
- ·Paid by brands to drive more purchases
- ·Point you at what's promoted
- ·Sell your identity and shopping behavior
- ·A coupon firehose
Pantry Deals
- Built to shrink your total bill
- Point you at what's cheaper for what you already buy
- Only de-identified prices — never your identity
- One verified deal per product, AI-checked for organic/size/unit traps
The affordability math
The math is the whole pitch.
Affordability isn't a slogan — it's math. Groceries became one of the biggest line items in every household budget, and a little visibility claws a lot of it back.

Questions, answered.
What happens to my receipt data? Are you selling it?
We never sell anything that identifies you. We keep stores, products, and prices — never your identity — and the price data we learn carries no link back to you, staying de-identified even after you delete your account. We do license that de-identified price data (see how we make money), but never your name, your receipts, or anything personal. We're privacy-first by architecture, not by policy.
How does Pantry Deals make money?
Never by selling you. During early access it's free. Longer term, two ways — both pointed at a smaller bill, not a bigger one: optional premium features you choose to pay for, and de-identified market price data — individual price observations and aggregate stats like the median price of a product in your area this month — licensed to retailers, researchers, and market analysts. That data carries no name, email, account, or receipt grouping and can't be traced back to you; we never sell your identity, your receipts, or anything personal. Our incentive stays the same as yours: help you spend less. The details are in our privacy policy.
I'm starting from zero — can I back-fill my purchase history?
Yes — and it's the best first move. Costco and Whole Foods both keep your past receipts online, and our parsers read those PDFs exactly, line by line:
- Costco: sign in at costco.com, open Orders & Purchases, switch to the In-Warehouse tab for store trips, then View Receipt and print or save each one as a PDF. Costco keeps roughly the last two years. Full walkthrough.
- Whole Foods: purchases scanned with your Prime code live in your Amazon account. Fastest path: request your order history from Amazon (Request My Data) and import the whole CSV in one go under Settings → Back-fill your history. Or save individual receipts as PDFs from Returns & Orders. Full walkthrough.
Then drag the whole stack onto the Upload page in one go. Every receipt parses automatically, and your price history, staples, and store comparisons fill in retroactively — months of insight on day one.
Is this just another app I have to babysit?
No new chore. It reads receipts you already get — forward a store email or snap a photo and you're done. It replaces grocery mental math; it doesn't add a task. You keep shopping exactly where you already shop.
Will it actually read my receipt correctly?
Built for accuracy, honest when it's unsure. Digital order PDFs are read by exact-text parsers — no OCR guesswork; photos use AI vision with a self-check on the total. Anything ambiguous lands in a one-click “needs review” queue, and you can fix any line by hand. We'd rather flag uncertainty than fake a number.
How is this different from Ibotta, Fetch, or coupons?
Those services are funded by brands — Ibotta and Fetch get paid by CPG companies when you buy promoted products, so their model is built around purchases. We're different by design: no brand pays us to push anything. We show you where your whole basket is cheaper and surface one verified deal per product instead of a coupon firehose. Their incentive points toward buying more; ours points toward a smaller bill. We win when you spend less.
Do I have to change where I shop?
No. The whole point is the cheapest basket within the stores you already use. We only suggest splitting a trip across two stores when it genuinely saves money.

Your receipts already know where you overpay
Every price you've ever paid is printed on paper most people throw away. Kept and read, your receipts become the only price tracker that's personalized to what you actually buy — here's how to use them.

The unit-price traps grocery stores hope you miss
The sticker price is the least useful number on the shelf. Per-pound vs per-each, ounces vs count, and bulk that isn't cheaper — the common unit-price traps, and the one division that defuses them.

When store brands actually win (and when they don't)
Store brands are often similar food at a lower price — but the gap isn't uniform. Where private label usually wins, where name brands hold up, and how to run the A/B test on your own basket.
